- Mix both dals and soak for 30 minutes.

- In pressure cooker take dals, turmeric powder, salt and other vegetables. Pressure cook it high flame. Take one whistle on high flame and second one in low flame, when third whistle is about to come turn off the gas and keep it aside.
- When cooker released all pressure, check dals. It's cooked perfectly not overcooked nor raw. This is the perfect mixture for sambar.
- In a bowl mix tamarind and hot water, rest it for about 30 minutes. After that mess it well and strain. We get a thick tamarind pulp.
